Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Advisor to join our team. As a Career Advisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in finding meaningful employment opportunities. Your expertise and guidance will help them navigate the job market and develop the necessary skills for success.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews and assessments to understand the individual's career goals, interests, and abilities
• Provide career counseling and guidance
• Develop personalized employment plans tailored to each individual's needs and goals
• Assist individuals in identifying job opportunities and connecting with potential employers
• Provide opportunities for occupational training and additional support in areas including job search strategies, resume writing, interview skills, and workplace etiquette
• Stay up-to-date on employment labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance
• Collaborate with other professionals, to provide comprehensive support to customers.

Target population of customers served by this Career Advisor position is individuals 18-24 years old. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred or related experience in education, counseling, or social services. WIOA experience a plus. Strong computer skills required. Ability to quickly gather, organize, and analyze information and produce reports. Excellent communication and counseling skills. Overall knowledge of grant regulations and the importance of compliance, or ability to learn quickly. Team orientation with respect for others, as well as ability to work independently when necessary. Ability to work well with individuals of various social and economic backgrounds. Must be willing to travel occasionally between main office in Wheeling and other offsite locations for programming (Travel reimbursement will be provided).
