Job description Career Compass is adding to our dynamic team of college & career coaches in Central Louisiana! Our coaches help 6th through 12th graders explore various career options and educational routes. From awareness of college and career options to one-on-one mentoring and coaching, Career Compass coaches support students in all steps of the post-secondary process and/or entry into the workforce. Our coaches encourage ALL students and help them in navigating their plans for the future. We believe that there is a place after high school for everyone, where everyone can learn, thrive, and reach the highest levels of their potential.

Positions Available:

Allen Parish:

Oakdale, Oberlin, Kinder Rapides Parish:

Alexandria, Pineville LaSalle/Catahoula/Concordia Parish:

Olla, Jena, Jonesville, Ferriday, Vidalia Note:

interviews for potential candidates will not begin until mid to late July 2026.

Allen, Rapides, LaSalle, Catahoula & Concordia Parish Schools Requirements:

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in education, social work, or guidance counseling, and must have experience working with students. Work on a public school campus 2-3 days a week, for 5 hours each day. This is a part-time job. This position works a 9-month school schedule- no summer or holiday pay. Must have strong computer skills and must be willing to learn unique data programs. Career Compass uses several different platforms that are relative to our needs. Applicants should be able to climb stairs and lift more than 10lbs

Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Ability to work well with students, including but not limited to researching college possibilities, aiding with ACT registration, assisting with the completion of college applications, providing information on financial aid and assistance with FAFSA completion, and engaging in meaningful conversations about careers and schools relative to each individual student. Must be available to work occasional evenings to support financial aid events on school campuses. Foster and develop relationships with school administration and support staff. Present professional development to teachers for particular services to 6th-11th graders.
