Adjunct What You'll Do:
  • Deliver engaging instruction for all assigned classes and modules, beginning and ending each class on time.
  • Teach safe and proper use of equipment, supplies, tools, and fitting procedures.
  • Inspect student work and evaluate the quality, strength, and accuracy of fitting projects.
  • Maintain documentation related to inspections, attendance, student progress, and evaluations.
  • Develop and distribute course syllabi aligned with approved master syllabi and college requirements.
  • Provide timely feedback, mentoring, and guidance to support student success and retention.
  • Refer students who may be at risk of failure to appropriate advising or counseling resources.
  • Support students pursuing employment or additional education by sharing job information, providing recommendations, and identifying career resources.
  • Ensure classroom equipment and instructional technology are safe and operational.
  • Respond to student questions within 24 hours on workdays and within 48 hours on weekends, in accordance with division procedures.
  • Meet all college deadlines, training requirements, credential standards, and applicable accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to a respectful, collaborative, student-centered college culture.
  • Follow policies, legal requirements, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and applicable safety and harassment policies.
  • Represent the College professionally and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 36 months of professional work experience in pipefitting or a related field.
  • NCCER Core certification or OSHA certification. Candidates without these credentials may be required to obtain them within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective instructional and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Commitment to student success and a student-centered learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Teaching experience at the college or high school level.
