Career Pathways Coordinator 2026/2027

Career Pathways Coordinators

Assist with Burlington High School's Innovation Career Pathway (ICP) program in business. The ICP program offers opportunities for students to explore careers, learn career readiness skills, and gain work-related learning experiences in high demand career fields like finance and technology. This role will arrange for seniors in the business pathway to complete an internship or capstone project, build business partnerships, run quarterly workshops for students, meet with students individually, and recruit freshman students to join the pathway for the next school year. This role is grant funded for one-year. Hours are flexible. Work should be completed at the school unless attending meetings with local businesses. Applicants may apply for portions of this position, and multiple applicants may be hired.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Program Administration -Assist in implementing the ICP Program.
  • Lead a minimum of 4 half-hour workshops for students on career exploration topics. Support students' MyCAP plan, (My Career and Academic Plan), meeting pathway students individually as needed.
  • Manage administrative details and logistics for career experiences such as industry certifications, career events, and two field trips to colleges.
  • Promote career pathways programs to students and parents. Meet monthly with the pathway faculty to outline and assess goals, vision, and deliverables.
  • Become familiar with Burlington High School systems including FlexLearning, ASPEN, Field Trip processes, ParentSquare, Google Classroom, Naviance, MyCAP (Career and Academic Planning), and IT policies and procedures.
  • Building Business Partnerships

Attend Burlington Chamber of Commerce monthly meetings during the school day and attend one or more evening activities to gain internship opportunities for students. Document and update contact information for all business contacts in the career exploration contact list spreadsheet. Arrange for at least one speaker per quarter. Coordinate with business teachers to have speakers attend business classes or speak during flex blocks.

Arrange for at least 15 professionals from different business functions to attend the High School Career Day on 2/4/2027 - using existing contacts in addition to new connections.

Arrange for at least 10 career speakers who are in technology/business roles for the Women in STEM event on 3/15/2027.

Arrange for all business pathway seniors to have internships (about 24 students). Meet with local businesses to find opportunities, manage student placements, and ensure students fulfill their internship requirements for the school and employer.

Develop a partnership with WealthTrek for the high school business program.

Create a Program Advisory Board by January 1, made up of 5-8 professionals (including parents) who will meet twice a year.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Good organizational and communication skills

Project management experience.

Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.

Experience working with High School students or career counseling preferred.

Enthusiasm for helping students find career opportunities.

Compensation:

Hour rate of $40 per hour, part-time, grant-funded position.
