Job Description The purpose of the Maryland Blueprint Career Counseling Program Associate is to provide high level administrative, advising and technical support to the WCE division for the Maryland Blueprint Career Counseling activities. Led by the Workforce Director and Harford Youth Career Manager and collaborating with the HCC's Advising, Career and Transfer Services (ACTS). in order to meet the objective of the Maryland's Blueprint Career Counseling project, this position serves as a liaison between Harford Community College (HCC), Susquehanna Workforce Network (SWN) & Harford County Public Schools (HCPS). This position is responsible for supporting alignment between secondary and postsecondary pathways by providing information on academic and workforce programs, credentials, admissions requirements, placement policies, dual enrollment opportunities, and articulation agreements. This role also supports student registration in career learning opportunities and promoting career and exploratory programs during the school year and summer. This position also monitors student success in HCC career pathways, tracks Industry Recognized Credential obtainment, in addition the specialist facilitates and assists with outreach events and activities, ensuring students have ample opportunities to explore and connect with various career path opportunities as part of the six-year academic and career planning process. The incumbent uses a range of technology-based systems to enter and maintain data and perform other electronic transactions and tasks. This position also supports workforce dual-enrolled students through enrollment, transition, and career pathway processes; develops and evaluates program outcomes through data collection and reporting; supports budget administration and transaction processing; and performs other administrative functions necessary to achieve the objectives of the Maryland Blueprint Career Counseling initiative. The position is grant-supported, and the length of the assignment is dependent on continued funding. This position reports to the Harford Youth Career Manager. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position. Required Education High school diploma/GED Required Experience Minimum of one year supporting high school or college-aged students Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Thorough knowledge of general office practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficient with Microsoft Office in a Windows-based environment Ability to work with diverse groups Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Banner and or Destiny One Experience in academic advising, student services, career services, or transfer services within a community college or higher education setting Associates degree Hours per Week 20 General Weekly Work Schedule Monday -Friday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends may be required.
