The Job Counselor will be responsible for meeting the employment needs of the Agency's Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA)/Food Stamps (FS) customers.

Essential Duties:

1. Provide current employment and labor market information for all suitable resources. 2. Assist each customer in establishing realistic employment objectives consistent with achieving federally mandated Work Participation and Universal Engagement. 3. Refer each client to the agency community partner resource entity responsible for employment readiness training. 4. Provide constant guidance and follow up as necessary to ensure employment and program compliance for the TCA program. 5. Record all work-related activities necessary to track each client's path to achieving his/her employment goals for working towards self-sufficiency. 6. Monitor and accounting for each customer's job placement, performance, and progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:

Six months of public contact experience involving negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, performing analysis of data, writing correspondence, and completing mathematical or legal tasks. This is a contractual position with benefits and is subject to a background check.
