Professional Boundaries:
As a professional it is important that you maintain professional boundaries with clients and former clients of BRH. This means they do not receive a personal phone number or be 'friended' on social media. If a person wishes to contact you for work purposes, they do so through BRH mainline. Please note that dating a client is just cause for loss of credential, license and employment. Please note that hugging of clients is strictly forbidden by professional staff.Position Summary:
Engages with patients in the Substance Use Detox Program, and encourages them to maintain sobriety, participate in recovery-oriented activities to help the client in their stage of change process. Participants in group treatment activities and models effective group participation and recovery-oriented perspective for clients with substance use disorders. Helps patients identify and access needed resources and recovery support upon discharge.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with co-facilitators of group therapy to plan presentation of material for detox groups
- Attend group therapy sessions and model appropriate group participation
- Assist with co-facilitating selected aspects of group therapy sessions in a detox setting
- Provide support and encouragement to group therapy participants in a detox setting
- Provide information and referrals regarding recovery resources in the community along with Completing the Detox Discharge paperwork
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPPA regulations
- Attend all mandatory meetings, and other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
- Candidate who identifies as being in recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share details of his or her personal recovery experience. If not Substance use, is able to share life experiences that they identify with in order to help clients understand life in itself has had ups and downs, struggles
- Minimum one years of sustained sobriety if having a use disorder in any substances
- Completed Training or is about to start training as a Recovery Coach, or is on a DP plan with MCBAP for this, or is on a CADC-DP. Is willing to obtain certification within 2 weeks of hire for a DP plan or a CADC-DP
- Enthusiastic about providing support and recovery to patients in early recovery from all use disorders
- Thorough understanding of stressors that can impact patterns in recovery from all use disorders and is able to work in an environment that can be stressful, in a detox setting
- Able to maintain patient confidentiality
