Location BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital Title Milk Bank Donor Coordinator - Bronson Methodist Hospital - Full-time Days The Milk Bank Donor Intake Coordinator conducts screenings of potential milk bank donors via in-person and over the phone. They will interface with healthcare providers in order to complete the approval process for milk bank donors and with hospitals and outpatient clients to dispense donor milk. The Milk Bank Donor Coordinator will analyze appropriate data for approval of milk bank donors. Must be knowledgeable about the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) guidelines for processing and preparing donor human milk and will prepare reports for the HMBANA. Will work closely with the Milk Bank Systems Coordinator, Pasteurization Coordinator, Breastfeeding Center, and department leadership in planning, implementing, promoting, and evaluation of the donor intake program. Will function in dual roles assisting , shipping and receiving of coolers, and pasteurizing donor milk. Serves as a resource for Milk Bank Staff. Associate or Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Nursing, Social Work, Nutrition, dietetics, or other healthcare related field. 2 years clinical experience in area of degree preferred. Teaching experience preferred. Computer skills Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment. Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer up to 80% of the time. Involves considerable standing and/or walking, and regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e. 20 pounds or less).
