Position Summary Reaching Up is seeking a caring, organized, and dependable Academic Support Coordinator to support our after‑school Homework Help program for elementary and middle school students in District 196. This role combines academic support, relationship‑building, and light transportation coordination to help students succeed in a safe, encouraging environment. The Academic Support Coordinator works Monday-Thursday on school days and plays a key role in creating a welcoming space where students receive individualized help in reading, writing, math, and study skills. Responsibilities Provide academic support to students in grades 3-8 during Homework Help sessions Build positive, consistent relationships with youth and families Support tutors and volunteers with materials, guidance, and student needs Communicate with school staff as needed regarding student progress or concerns Assist with end‑of‑day transportation (5:30-6:30pm) when needed Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment Track attendance and basic program data Other duties as assigned to support program operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience working with youth) Experience in tutoring, mentoring, teaching, or youth programming Ability to work with diverse populations of students Strong communication and relationship‑building skills Spanish language skills preferred but not required Valid driver's license Comfortable operating a 15‑passenger van (or willing to learn) Able to pass a background check
Schedule & Compensation Hours:
Monday-Thursday, 1:30pm-6:30pm (middle school) or 2:30pm-6:30pm (elementary) School‑year position following ISD 196 calendar
Pay:
