Job Description
Salary $45,000 year Do you have a passion for making a difference in someone's life? Are you goal driven? Then the Youth Advocate position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team. As the Youth Advocate you will provide support and assistance to youth program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement. This position requires an organized individual who can efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously.
Successful Elements:
Provide individualized basic skills assessment and identify employment goals based on career interest, ability and personal development considerations Develop Individual Services Strategy in conjunction with youth Assist youth in accomplishing the goals of the Individual Service Strategy Build one-on-one working relationships with youth to assist in mitigating challenges to obtaining and retaining employment Facilitate educational activities in individual and group settings to remediate basic skills and increase functional educational levels Coordinate onsite and offsite career awareness field trips with employers and educational facilities Provide comprehensive case management and follow-up to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies as needed Establish detailed documentation of all client records to maintain organized database and generate all project reports as needed Provide regular updates to Youth Program Manager Other opportunities as availableEducation and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, education, training, human resources or related area is preferred Experience with people with developmental disabilities preferred Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively as a team Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent follow-through when corresponding with partners, staff and customers Must have a valid driver's license & clean driving record Proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsJob Type:
