Program Specialist Location:
Poplarville Campus Job Description/Overview:
The CTE Program Specialist supports the Career & Technical Education (CTE) department through student recruitment, advising support, program promotion, data management, reporting, and administrative coordination. The position works closely with the CTE Dean, faculty, students, and college departments to promote CTE programs, facilitate student success, maintain accurate program information, and support departmental and institutional initiatives.

Responsibilities & Performance Required:
Participate in CTE recruitment, outreach, and promotional activities designed to showcase programs to prospective students, parents, and community members through outreach, communication, presentations, events, and other recruitment activities.
Assist CTE faculty with the advisement of CTE students, including providing program information, degree and course guidance, and referrals to appropriate campus resources.
Create, update, and maintain CTE advising profile sheets and coordinate the distribution of current information to appropriate departments and platforms.
Participate in Workforce Development activities and initiatives as assigned.
Maintain accurate and timely records related to recruitment, student advisement, program information, and departmental activities.
Utilize and maintain proficiency in Banner, Argos, DegreeWorks, and other institutional systems as required to support CTE student advising, recruitment, enrollment, reporting and departmental operations.
Assist the CTE Dean with collection, organization, verification, and submission of data required for departmental reporting.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CTE Dean.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field, minimum
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent written, verbal, and technology skills
Ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current students, parents, faculty, staff, and community partners
Ability to represent the college and CTE programs in a professional manner at recruitment, outreach, and community events
Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and maintain accurate data and records
Strong organizations skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Fluent in Microsoft Office suite - Prepare various documents and reports in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to learn and effectively utilize Banner, Argos, DegreeWorks, and other college systems
Commitment to student success and the mission of Career and Technical Education.
Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population in an atmosphere that is supportive, flexible and helpful
Preferred:
Master's degree in related field
Proven, relevant budgeting experience
2 years proven experience in Student Information System (SIS), preferably Banner
Experience working with Career & Technical Students
Experience in higher education environment
Demonstrated effective leadership skills
Evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness, and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth
