Job Description
Description The Part-Time Corporate and Customized Training Coordinator supports the Director of Corporate and Customized Training & Apprenticeship Programs in the coordination, administration, and delivery of customized training programs for businesses, industries, and community partners. This position provides administrative and operational support to ensure training activities are accurately scheduled, documented, processed, and completed in accordance with Johnston Community College and North Carolina Community College System requirements. The coordinator serves as a professional point of contact for employers, instructors, students, and college personnel and assists with maintaining positive relationships with training partners. Knowledge & Responsibilities Corporate and Customized Training Coordination Coordinate customized training activities with employers, instructors, students, and college personnel. Assist with scheduling training classes, instructors, facilities, equipment, and other resources. Communicate training information and logistics to appropriate stakeholders. Assist with course kick-offs and training closeouts. Monitor training timelines and follow up on outstanding items. Administrative and Program Support Prepare, organize, and verify training documentation and participant packets. Assist with course registration, rosters, attendance, evaluations, and completion records. Enter and maintain accurate information in college systems, including Banner. Assist with processing Fund Action Requests and other required documentation through the North Carolina Community College System. Prepare and submit course setup requests and service agreements for appropriate review and approval. Maintain organized electronic and paper records related to training activities. Invoicing and Closeout Assist with reviewing training documentation for accuracy and completeness. Support the invoicing process and ensure required documentation is available for billing and closeout. Assist with resolving discrepancies and obtaining missing information. Maintain records necessary for program reporting and auditing. Employer and Instructor Communication Provide professional and timely communication to corporate clients, instructors, students, and internal departments. Respond to routine questions and requests related to training coordination. Escalate issues requiring administrative or program-level decisions to the Director. Help ensure employers and instructors receive accurate information regarding training requirements and schedules. Apprenticeship and Workforce Development Support Provide administrative support for apprenticeship, work-based learning, and other workforce development initiatives as assigned. Assist with scheduling meetings, maintaining records, tracking participation, and communicating with employers and participants. Support outreach and program activities coordinated by the Director. Customer Service and Professional Responsibilities Represent Johnston Community College in a professional and positive manner. Maintain confidentiality of student, employee, employer, and college information. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Demonstrate dependability, organization, attention to detail, and responsiveness. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Minimum & Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited institution; or High school diploma or equivalent with relevant education and/or experience in business administration, workforce development, education, training coordination, or a related field. Experience providing administrative or customer service support. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize multiple assignments and meet established deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a community college, workforce development, continuing education, corporate training, or related environment. Experience working with business and industry partners. Experience with Banner or similar student information/administrative systems. Experience coordinating training programs, classes, meetings, or events. Familiarity with North Carolina Community College System processes and workforce development programs. Experience with apprenticeship or work-based learning programs. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in an office and/or college environment with regular interaction with faculty, staff, students, employers, and community partners. The position may require occasional travel, evening hours, or participation in workforce development activities and training events based on program needs.
