Job Description

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is designated as being subject to the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act (SHRA). The primary purpose of this position is to support access and inclusion for students with disabilities by coordinating reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and related support services through the Office of Accessibility Resources. The position conducts student intake meetings, reviews disability-related documentation and student self-reports, and applies applicable policies and legal requirements to help determine appropriate accommodations. This role provides ongoing student support and case management, connects students with campus and community resources, assists with testing accommodation processes as needed, and contributes to outreach and programming efforts that promote awareness of accessibility services across the campus community. Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of college students with disabilities, including accommodation practices, accessibility resources, and support services within a higher education setting. Working knowledge of relevant disability-related laws, policies, and confidentiality requirements, including ADA, Section 504, and FERPA. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, faculty, staff, families, and campus or community partners, and to build effective working relationships across the university community. Strong organizational, case-management, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage sensitive information, maintain accurate records, and balance competing priorities.
