We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Counselor to support individuals with diverse needs in achieving meaningful employment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in workforce development, social work, and counseling, with a focus on empowering clients through personalized guidance, skill development, and advocacy. As an Employment Counselor, you will play a vital role in connecting clients with suitable employment opportunities and providing ongoing support to foster long-term success. Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' skills, interests, and employment goals to develop tailored employment plans. Provide counseling and mentoring to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, fostering confidence and independence. Assist clients in navigating employment laws and workplace rights, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making. Develop and deliver training programs focused on job readiness, interview techniques, workplace etiquette, and soft skills development. Collaborate with employers, community agencies, and service providers to identify job opportunities and facilitate placements. Support clients through the hiring process by assisting with resume writing, interview preparation, and onboarding procedures. Monitor progress post-employment to address challenges, provide ongoing support, and promote retention. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, employment outcomes, and service plans in compliance with organizational policies. Knowledge of employment and labor laws relevant to individuals with disabilities. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Background in addiction counseling, social work, teaching, or mentoring is highly desirable. Strong interviewing skills combined with the ability to assess client needs effectively. Demonstrated ability to develop training programs related to work readiness and skill enhancement. Excellent communication skills for engaging clients, employers, and community partners professionally. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment.
