Full-Time Schedule Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.; plus rotating Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Work Arrangement:

On-site; local transportation duties during assigned shifts.

Position Summary:

The Weekend Day Peer Support Specialist provides trauma-informed, person-centered peer support to residents at the STAR Center Campus. During Saturday and Sunday day shifts, the position provides mentoring, practical guidance, resident support, transportation to approved appointments and community activities, and assistance with life skills and recovery or reentry goals. During rotating weekday shifts, the position supports treatment service coordination, resident appointments, program activities, and assigned transportation needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide respectful, strengths-based peer support informed by lived experience, recovery principles, trauma informed care, and appropriate professional boundaries. Remain engaged, attentive, and available throughout assigned weekend day and weekday shifts and maintain dependable attendance and punctuality. Support residents with daily routines, scheduled activities, appointments, life-skills development, and other approved program needs. Help maintain a safe, calm, clean, and supportive residential environment; identify and report safety hazards, security concerns, maintenance needs, and supply issues. Engage residents throughout the day, encourage healthy coping and problem-solving strategies, and reinforce individualized recovery, reentry, or stability goals. Use approved de-escalation and crisis-response practices; contact supervisory, clinical, emergency, or lawenforcement resources when required by the situation and organizational procedures. Reinforce campus expectations, house rules, schedules, and safety procedures consistently, respectfully, and without judgment. Document resident contacts, appointments, services, significant observations, incidents, actions taken, and followup needs before the end of the shift; complete required incident reports and protect confidential information in accordance with HIPAA, LINC, Inc. policy, and applicable requirements. Notify the appropriate supervisor or designated staff of urgent concerns, unusual events, suspected policy violations, medical issues, or changes in a resident's condition or behavior. Safely transport residents to approved medical appointments, services, community resources, and leisure or wellness activities using a LINC company vehicle; respond calmly to unexpected or high-stress situations during transit. LINC, Inc. Coordinate and verify resident appointments, schedules, services, and program activities in collaboration with STAR Center staff and community providers. Safely transport residents between LINC sites and approved community locations as assigned; complete required vehicle checks; maintain vehicle cleanliness and required mileage/fuel documentation; follow passenger-safety procedures; and promptly report vehicle concerns. Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, supervisors, service providers, and community partners and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program activities as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of peer-support principles, recovery-oriented services, trauma-informed engagement, professional boundaries, confidentiality, and the needs of justice-involved or otherwise marginalized populations. Ability to remain calm, observant, and responsive and to exercise sound judgment during transportation, emergencies, conflicts, or other high-stress situations. Strong communication, active-listening, relationship-building, de-escalation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate factual, relevant resident and shift information to staff without speculation or unnecessary disclosure. Ability to maintain timely, objective, accurate, and confidential electronic and written documentation using standard records, email, shared-calendar, and incident-reporting systems. Ability to manage assigned responsibilities, transportation schedules, and resident needs while following established procedures and seeking supervisory or emergency assistance when appropriate.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED is required. Peer Support Specialist and/or Community Health Worker certification is preferred. One year of experience in reentry, recovery, residential support, peer support, human services, or a related setting is preferred. Current CPR/First Aid and PREA certification is preferred but is not required at the time of hire; required training or certification must be completed within the timeframe established by LINC, Inc.

Additional Requirements:

Active, valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and the ability to meet LINC, Inc. requirements for operating a company vehicle and transporting residents during assigned duties. Ability and willingness to work the assigned weekend day schedule and rotating weekday schedule, including holidays or additional coverage when assigned. Ability to satisfy LINC, Inc. screening, training, confidentiality, safety, and documentation requirements. Reliable telephone access and the ability to communicate promptly with supervisory or designated staff during assigned shifts

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
