SCOPE OF WORK
Provides technical and administrative support within the office of academic advising with responsibility for assisting with the enrollment process with a focus on financial literacy, processes, eligibility, SAP status, tuition planning, and scholarships. This position will serve as the point of contact for students looking to reengage and complete their program, as well as newly enrolled first-time, full-time students. Collects, maintains, and provides information, data, calendars, and reports. May provide specialized support to select student populations including students looking to regain satisfactory academic progress. This position reports to the Director of Academic Advising at Manchester Community CollegeACCOUNTABILITIES
: Proactive outreach around financial literacy, processes, eligibility, SAP status, tuition planning, and scholarships. Manages a comprehensive case load supporting student with SAP appeals, maintaining a campaign throughout the semester including connecting with appropriate advisors, campus resources, and working to ensure students gain satisfactory academic progress. Ongoing monitoring of inactive MCC students to promote reengagement campaigns and credential completion. Serving as the students' connection to resources and departments on campus needed to navigate the reengagement process. Overseeing the incoming IPEDs cohort students to maintain connections and support retention of the cohort. Assist with student registration campaigns, student life events, new student orientation, career and transfer events, and various student support initiatives. Supports the operational side of student onboarding including placement, transfer, change of major, and first semester course registration. Maintains collaborative relationships with Admissions, Advising, and Department Chairs and Program Coordinators to identify and provide targeted support for students. Informs students of and makes referrals to academic support and other available resources on campus; works with the Advising Center and Library to provide tutoring and other services for students with academic concerns. Assists students in meeting their academic goals by providing one-one coaching, helping them better utilize college resources such as academic technology (Navigate, SIS, Canvas, Zoom, etc.), student life and holistic services (food pantry, student assistance program, etc.). Maintains open and frequent communication with students through text, phone, email, meetings, etc. Creates and facilitates workshops that promote student success such as study skills, trainings for Zoom, CANVAS, Navigate, and other programs. Participates in professional development activities and serves on college or CCSNH committees and teams. Complies with all system, state, and federal rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:Education :
Associate's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, education, liberal arts, general studies, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.Experience :
Three (3) years of experience in academic/career advising, admissions, teaching, tutoring, library services, and/or student support within an educational setting. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.OR Education :
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, education, liberal arts, general studies, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.Experience :
One (1) year of experience in academic/career advising, admissions, teaching, tutoring, library services, and/or student support within an educational setting. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.License/Certification:
Valid Driver's License or access to transportation required.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, Word Press, Adobe, and email marketing software. Experience in a higher education environment. Bilingual preferred.RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS
