Job Description

Job Overview:
This role combines team leadership, partner relationship management, student advising, and program administration to secure quality placements, ensure compliance, and drive student success. The Lead Externship Coordinator oversees, expands, and directs the organization's experiential learning program. By blending team leadership, strategic partner management, student advising, and administrative oversight, this role ensures compliance, secures high-quality placements, and maximizes student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily externship operations, establish placement workflows, ensure regulatory/accreditation compliance, and track performance metrics (placement rates, site satisfaction, completion rates). Source, evaluate, and onboarding new partner organizations; cultivate long-term relationships with host site supervisors; draft and maintain site agreements/MOUs. Match students to appropriate externship opportunities based on skills and career goals; conduct orientation sessions; prepare students with professional readiness skills (resumes, interviewing, workplace norms). Guide, train, and evaluate junior coordinators; standardize placement practices across departments & campuses. Conduct site visits (virtual or in-person), mediate workplace conflict or performance issues involving externs, and gather feedback from both hosts and students to drive program improvement. Encourage and assist students with progressing in an externship satisfactorily Monitor student progress by telephone and site visits if possible Obtain appropriate documentation from each student entering an externship Review candidates' resumes to know about their educational qualification, work experience and other skills Provide suggestions on how to maintain a good position and grow further within the organization Coordinate and facilitate the execution of contracts with businesses to establish approve externship sites in compliance with the institutional and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate records of logs and form through google drive. Enter student's externship hours into Online Smart Database weekly Process student Leave of Absence (LOAs) and withdrawals/drops accurately according to business timeline. Select appropriate evaluation or assessment tools to be administered to the student Meeting with job seekers to attempt to match current employment options with the various individuals and their skills Referring job seekers to businesses, setting up interviews, or arranging to assist with resumes or other documentation as required Provide career counseling to the candidate Conduct activities conducive to the placement of GSSTI graduates and students

Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
