•28 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience About Anchor Life Support Services Anchor Life Support is a New Jersey DDD/Medicaid-approved provider committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities live, work, and participate more independently in their communities. We are looking for a Gujarati-speaking DSP or Employment Support Specialist / Job Coach to provide individualized employment support to an adult who is currently employed in Jersey City. Position Overview The individual is currently working and would benefit from limited, consistent support to help maintain success in his current employment. The position is expected to involve approximately 2 hours to 10 hours of support per week; generally flexible schedule from 1 hour per day. The ideal candidate will be patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable providing discreet support in a workplace environment. Responsibilities Provide individualized support at the individual's workplace. Assist with understanding and completing job duties and workplace routines. Provide appropriate prompting, modeling, and encouragement. Help the individual build confidence and independence at work. Follow the individual's NJ DDD Individualized Service Plan and support goals. Communicate professionally with Anchor Life Support and, when appropriate, the individual's employment team. Document services and progress accurately. Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's dignity, independence, and preferences. Gradually reduce prompting and support as the individual's independence increases, when appropriate. Follow all applicable Anchor Life Support, NJ DDD, and workplace policies. Required Qualifications Fluent Gujarati — preferred and maybe required . Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation or dependable ability to travel to the individual's workplace in Jersey City. Ability to work professionally in an employment setting. Patience and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Must be able to pass required background checks and meet applicable NJ DDD employment requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver, job coach, employment specialist, special education aide, behavioral support staff, or disability services professional. Experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Previous experience providing employment or vocational support. NJ DDD-required Employment Specialist/Job Coach training or equivalent qualifying credentials. Experience working with individuals who have limited English proficiency.
