Job Description

J Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Counselor II to provide case management, counseling support, participant recruitment, and employment services for individuals in our workforce development program. This role requires extensive fieldwork throughout designated Southern New Jersey counties and regular travel to our Central Office in Trenton, particularly during the training period. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping individuals achieve economic independence and employment success while maintaining strong relationships with participants, employers, host agencies, and community partners. Work Location Candidates must reside within or be willing to travel throughout the following New Jersey counties: Atlantic Camden Cape May Cumberland Gloucester Monmouth Sussex This position is field-based and requires travel to One-Stop Career Centers, host agencies, community partners, and the Central Office in Trenton as needed. Travel reimbursement is available. Minimum QualificationsRequired Education Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Required Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of case management experience Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Attention to detail Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Effective task planning and time management skills Technology Proficiency Experience using: Microsoft Teams Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Outlook

DocuSign Transportation Requirements Valid Driver's License Reliable personal vehicle with full-time access Ability and willingness to travel between assigned offices, host sites, and community locations Key Responsibilities Manage participant caseloads with varying levels of complexity. Recruit qualified participants within the 55+ population. Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) tailored to participant goals. Provide ongoing case management and counseling services. Coordinate services with participants, families, employers, One-Stop staff, host agencies, and community service providers. Build and maintain partnerships with nonprofit organizations and workforce development partners. Assist participants in obtaining training opportunities and unsubsidized employment. Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with program guidelines. Ensure quarterly employment placement goals are achieved. Apply knowledge of counseling, social work, case management practices, and federal program requirements. Make informed decisions regarding participant services while adhering to established policies and funding guidelines. Conduct field visits to host sites and partner organizations as needed. Travel to the Trenton Central Office is required, especially during onboarding and training. Travel reimbursement is available. A personal vehicle and valid driver's license are required at all times.
