Career Preparation Program (CPP) Instructor Glenmont Job Corps Center | Help Students Start Strong & Prepare for What's Next Are you great at connecting with young people, building confidence, and helping someone turn "I don't know what I want to do" into a plan for their future? Glenmont Job Corps Center is seeking a motivated and supportive Career Preparation Program (CPP) Instructor to help newly enrolled students successfully begin their Job Corps journey. CPP is one of the first stages of a student's experience at Job Corps. You'll help students adjust to Center life, understand expectations, identify career goals, develop workplace skills, and prepare to transition into their chosen career training program. Think of this role as part instructor, part career coach, part mentor, and part student success guide. πŸ•— Schedule Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM-4:45 PM SALARY $55,000/YEAR ⏰ Job Type Full-Time πŸš— Required Valid In-State Driver's License πŸš€ What Does a CPP Instructor Actually Do?
Simply put:
You help students get off to a strong start. Many students are entering a new environment, meeting new people, exploring career options, and learning what will be expected of them in training and the workplace. You'll provide classroom instruction, coaching, and individualized support to help students successfully navigate that transition. πŸ“š What You'll Do As a CPP Instructor, you'll: πŸ“š Teach & Prepare β€” Provide engaging Career Preparation instruction and help students develop skills they'll need throughout Job Corps. 🎯 Build Career Goals β€” Help students identify interests, establish career goals, and develop individualized achievement plans. πŸ“ˆ Track Student Progress β€” Monitor performance, identify students who may need additional support, and help keep them moving toward successful CPP completion. πŸ’¬ Coach & Mentor β€” Build positive professional relationships while helping students develop confidence, accountability, and independence. 🏫 Create a Positive Classroom β€” Maintain an organized, engaging, and supportive learning environment with clear expectations. 🀝 Help Students Transition β€” Prepare students to move successfully from Career Preparation into academics, Career Technical Training, and other areas of the Job Corps program. πŸ“Š Maintain Accurate Records β€” Complete required student documentation and follow all program integrity and reporting requirements. πŸŽ‰ Welcome Students to Glenmont Your involvement may begin before a student even arrives on Center. What We're Looking For High School diploma or equivalent

degree from an accredited school preferred. Previous group facilitation, teaching or Job Corps experience preferred. Must possess a valid in-state Driver's License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
