A Career Counselor works with adults of all ages to plan career choices and access the education and training needed to support a career. Gives skills assessment and aptitude tests to clients. Provides job search assistance or training for general workplace skills. Provides referrals for workplace literacy, academic or job training programs, or direct job referrals.
Rotating schedule which includes a weekend and holiday rotation. A valid NYS drivers license is required
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing direct and indirect services to clients and families.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High School diploma/GED with 4 + years experience in human services, OR Associates degree with 1- 3 years experience in human services, OR B.S. degree with 0 years experience. Liberal Arts degree in human service-related field preferred. CASAC certification a plus. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training. A valid New York State drivers license is required. Will maintain yearly in-service training.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS
Clinical setting. Exposure class I - routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions.

Pay Range:
$23.77 - $31.95 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
