QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
  • Associates Degree in a Human Services or Accounting field with 3-12 months in the field preferred. OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience in a similar field. Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with clientele and personnel within and outside the Agency.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in a written form in an organized and concise manner.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to negotiate on behalf of clientele with companies such as National Grid, furniture stores, landlords, etc.
  • Computer skills as necessary.
  • Demonstrate competence in math/accounting skills.
  • A valid New York State Driver's License with 5 points or less.
  • Ability to recognize and control one's own biases, values, systems, judgments, etc.
  • Organized skills to meet assigned situations and work demands.
RESPONSIBLE TO
Supported Housing Coordinator
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Administrative
  • Required to follow all Agency policies and procedures, using the Policy and Procedures manual as a reference.
  • Required to understand and abide by those laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that are applicable to the program/service which you are providing.
  • Required to report any known or suspected violation of laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to programs/services of the agency.
  • Required to maintain accurate statistical records and files on program participants and activities, including but not limited to individual client records, billing records, expense sheets, purchase orders, petty cash, schedules, mileage records.
  • Act as back up for Supported Housing Coordinator.
  • Review and update accurate program records and statistics as directed by supervisor.
  • Carry out program goals commensurate with policies and procedures.
  • Assess recipient's needs as required by program.
  • Implement contacts based on client need. Client/Program Related
  • Advocate, facilitate, monitor, support, and coordinate services to approximately 60 adult mentally ill clients.
  • Provide services as outlined in the Policies and Procedures required by the Office of Mental Health.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of programs.
  • Be aware of community resources and utilize same as relevant.
  • Maintain client confidentiality. Catholic Charities Agency and Community Related
  • Attend staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • Participate in service training sessions, workshops, and/or conference within Catholic Charities and the larger community, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties within the organization, as directed.
