Job Description
Position:
First Lego League (FLL) Instructor/Coach (Paid Training) In this position you will join our award winning staff to teach, guide & coach our variousFIRST LEGO
League teams, preparing them for their competition(s). The Teacher/Coach would promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Programs/Teams are conducted for children ages 6-10 (FLL Explore) and 9-14 (FLL Challenge). This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.Role & Responsibilities:
Lead groups of up to 10 students through FLL curriculum-guided activities Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment including Spike Prime and Spike Essential Instruct and demonstrate programming through Lego Spike Prime/Essential software Instruct and demonstrate designing and constructing a Lego Robot using Spike Prime/Essential Instruct and Guide students through the innovation project Reports to manager but is able to manage a team through FIRST Dashboard (additional pay for bigger role)Qualifications:
Must have experience with LEGO. Designing and building Lego Robots using Spike Prime/Essential/Mindstorms EV3 a PLUS. Experience with programming using Lego Spike Software a PLUS. (Will Train) Coaching experience with a robotics team (FLL, FTC, FRC, WRO) a PLUS. Criminal and Child Clearances must be current Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basisAdditional Notes:
Availability for practice outside of regular class hours, including scheduled weekend scrimmages and tournaments. The regular season for FLL begins in late August with the release of the annual challenge and continues through the qualifier tournament season in February. Teams that advance to the state competition will continue to meet through mid-March. Teams practice at least 2 hrs, once per week, during the regular season. This position is part-time/seasonal with much opportunity for growth, more hours and pay. We are a brick and mortar as well mobile business that operates in schools, libraries, homes, etc. throughout Nassau County Long Island. Our new location is at the Samanea Mall in Westbury. Most shifts start at 3 PM after School, Preschool earlier.Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 10.0 per weekBenefits:
