Job Description

This position assists the Office of Career Services with providing support to students, alumni, community members, faculty and employers. Position will work up to 20 hours per week
Working Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • (with additional evening hours available per event schedule.) This position is a non
  • Federal Work Study student worker position.
Responsibilities include assistance with events, career fairs, and employer engagement activities. Additionally, the student assistant will be tasked with greeting guests, facilitating check-in/check-out process from student appointments, PowerPoint development, as well as general office requirements of typing, answering phones, data entry, greeting visitors, creating documents using Microsoft Word and Excel, conducting telephone surveys, and assembling presentation packets, etc.

A high degree of professionalism is required for this very visible position. The attire when working in the office is business casual. The applicant must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and customer service skills. A high level of confidentiality is required. Exceptional communication skills and presentation skills are a must. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A working knowledge of Google platforms including Forms, Sheets, Docs, and Slides is necessary. Must be a Stark State Student enrolled for at least one (1) credit hour in the semester they are working during Fall and Spring semesters.
