Description:
Horizon Project (HPI) is a nonprofit that provides support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Job Coach/DSPs provide person-centered training and activities that enable our clients to achieve employment, enhanced socialization and independence, or meet other personal goals. You may be trained as a job coach and earn an additional job coaching rate when supporting clients with jobs in the community. No experience or certifications are required! On-the-job training is provided.Location:
HermistonSTEP Center Program Wage Range:
$16- $22 per hour, starting wage depending on experience.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday, 8AM-4PM (40 hrs. per week). This schedule may vary based on client needs
- occasional weekends and evenings are required. Essential Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Complete assigned duties at Day Support, Community Living Support, or Job Coaching.
- Follow medical procedures regarding dispensing, administering, and documenting client medication
- Follow safety procedures including understanding evacuation plans, and ensuring a clean and safe living environment for the clients
- Follow program procedures regarding client service plans, individual support plans, and action plans.
- Follow financial procedures regarding client and household bank accounts and petty cash.
- Assisting with client care including bathing, dental hygiene, transportation, housekeeping, and cooking.
- Maintain professional communication with teammates, supervisors, clients, client families, and community members.
- Promote and protect the dignity, respect, and independence of our clients.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and driving records check
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license that is insurable by Horizon Project's auto insurance (Driving Required)
