Job Description

Career Preparation Period Specialist Career Systems Development Corporation seeks a Career Preparation Specialist to guide Job Corps students through early career readiness. In this role, you will deliver workshops on workplace skills, job search strategies, and professionalism; conduct assessments and create individualized career plans; coordinate work-based learning and employer connections; and track student progress toward placement goals. You will collaborate with counselors, instructors, and center staff to ensure a supportive, structured, and inclusive environment that prepares young adults for employment, further training, or education. Deliver group workshops on employability, workplace readiness, and job search skills Conduct assessments and develop individualized career preparation plans for students Provide one-on-one coaching on resumes, interviewing, and professionalism Coordinate work-based learning, employer visits, and career-related events Track and document student progress, outcomes, and compliance data Collaborate with counselors, instructors, and center staff to support student success Maintain a structured, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment Support transition of students into jobs, advanced training, or further education Career counseling Workshop facilitation Individual career planning Student assessment Case management Employer outreach Job search coaching Data entry and tracking Presentation skills Workforce development knowledge Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Career counseling or workforce development certification preferred Experience with Job Corps or similar federal workforce programs a plus Training in counseling, social work, or education beneficial
