Job Description

YouthPlaces Position:
Primary Focus:
Workshop facilitation, youth engagement, career preparation, and implementation support. The Part-Time Teen Pathways Coach will primarily support the direct implementation of YP 1st Jobs by helping facilitate activities, engage teen participants, reinforce curriculum, and prepare youth for their summer employment experiences.
Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Facilitating and co-facilitating workforce-readiness workshops and activities.
  • Creating the opportunity for financial literacy and credit-education workshop sessions.
  • Helping youth practice professional communication, teamwork, interview skills, resume development, customer service, and workplace expectations.
  • Supporting mock interviews, employer panels, career speakers, and job-readiness activities.
  • Tracking participant attendance, engagement, and completion of program requirements.
  • Following up with participants who need additional support or make-up activities.
  • Providing feedback on curriculum effectiveness and youth engagement.
  • Helping prepare participants for employer interviews, orientations, and their first day of work.
  • Supporting with employer partner communications to identify placement opportunities for program participants.
  • Assisting with youth reflections, employer feedback, and end-of-program transition activities.

Anyone over 17 years of age with a high school diploma or GED, and who is a U.S. citizen or has permanent residency, is welcome to apply. Part-time allies will complete 675 hours of service over a 10-month period and will have adjusted benefits. This service has three main components:
Apprenticeship:
Allies are matched with a nonprofit organization or public agency in their community where they work 4 days each week to address critical social issues.
Leadership Development:
Allies attend core-, midyear-, and final retreats, along with weekly full-day Friday training designed to teach a variety of personal and professional skills in addition to the 4 day service at their nonprofit sites. Allies receive critical feedback, reflection, and personal coaching toward individual performance and professional goals.
Team Service Projects:

Pay:
Part-time allies receive $8,500 over the 10.5 month period Expected hours: 14 - 18 per week
Part-time Benefits:
Monthly 1-on-1 Coaching $2,817 Tuition reimbursement
