Community Recovery Specialist- DAY SHIFT Schedule:
Full-Time Hours:
7a-3p Sunday-Thursday Position Summary The Community Recovery Specialist is responsible for providing daily support to residents in areas including independent living, self-care, and treatment-related services. This role models behaviors that support positive treatment outcomes and recovery-oriented practices while assisting residents in achieving personal goals and greater independence. The Community Recovery Specialist may facilitate individual and group support activities and is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to RHD's values in all aspects of service delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist residents in developing independent living skills, including: Employment readiness Educational pursuits Money management Medication management Transportation planning Meal preparation Shopping for household necessities Maintaining site cleanliness Housing searches Roommate matching Social skills development Support residents with scheduling, attending, and following up on medical appointments and treatment recommendations. Manage a caseload of 1-3 residents with the goal of helping individuals transition to a less intensive level of care within approximately one year. Utilize Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles while implementing the program's phase system, service planning, goal development, skill-building activities, and community integration strategies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including: Daily progress notes Service plans Goal tracking documentation Medication monitoring records (MAR) Participate in weekly team meetings, monthly supervision sessions with the Site Lead, monthly staff meetings, and consultations with Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialists as needed. Ensure compliance with all program, corporate, state, and regulatory policies, procedures, and protocols. Immediately report incidents, concerns, or situations that may impact the safety or well-being of residents, staff, or the program. Demonstrate professionalism, fairness, respect, and compassion in all interactions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working directly with individuals diagnosed with mental health and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to program sites and the Corporate Office as needed. Ability to obtain and maintain all required criminal background clearances as mandated by applicable regulations and assigned programs. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. About Apis Services, Inc.
