Job Description

Where Old-World Craft Meets Real-World Careers Since 1881, North Bennet Street School has been turning passion into profession. Tucked into Boston's historic North End, NBSS is one of America's oldest trade schools training the next generation of bookbinders, violinmakers, cabinetmakers, locksmiths, preservation carpenters, jewelers, and piano technicians. The Role We're hiring a Part-Time Career Services & Alumni Engagement Coordinator to connect what happens inside our workshops to what's possible in the world beyond them. This is a hands-on, people-facing role for someone who thrives on organization, genuinely enjoys building relationships, and wants their work to matter. You will own our alumni and jobs database, help run career networking events, and serve as a consistent point of contact for students navigating the transition from training to trade. What You'll Do Database & Systems
  • Keep our jobs board updated with current employment and internship opportunities
  • Build out our alumni database which connects our graduates and current students
  • Conduct outreach to students on career prep, post-grad tracking, and ACCSC Business Course requirements Events & Experiential Learning
  • Help plan, promote, and host on-site networking events, trade shows, and industry meetups
  • Coordinate Lunch & Learn workshops on career readiness, professional development, and resume building Student & Alumni Support
  • Guide students through internship searches, deadlines, and applications
  • Stay connected with alumni, keeping relationships warm and creating mentorship pathways Day-to-Day Operations
  • Address student career inquiries as they come in and respond with empathy and know-how
  • Assist on administrative tasks and special projects across the department What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Experience in career services or alumni engagement (preferred)
  • Comfort with databases, CRMs, MS Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter energy with the flexibility to shift priorities when students need you most Compensation
  • Approximately 15-18 hours/week through June 2027

Pay:
$27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 18.0 per week
