What You'll Do:

Help patients access coverage and hospitals get reimbursed About Us Hospital Support Services (HSS) partners with hospitals across Maryland to assist uninsured patients with the Medical Assistance (MA) application process. Located in downtown Baltimore's Little Italy neighborhood, we work directly with patients referred by hospitals who have no insurance to cover their medical bills. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate bilingual (English and Spanish) Field Representative Application Counselor . In this role, you will guide patients through the MA application process, working closely with hospital staff, patients, and our internal case management team. Responsibilities Assist English

•and Spanish-speaking patients with MA applications Collect required documentation for MA applications (e.g., Social Security card, photo ID, income verification, bank statements) Meet patients in hospitals or, after discharge, at a convenient location to complete applications Assist in locating and supporting homeless patients with applications Travel to the Baltimore office once per week at a minimum to: Submit paperwork Enter cases into the database for payroll and tracking Meet with staff for updates Maintain regular communication with the HSS Case Manager about case progress Compensation $100

•150 per completed case Biweekly pay (Fridays) Stipend provided during the first 60 days Typical caseload: 50+ active cases Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required; must be able to communicate with patients in both languages High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or social services experience preferred Prior experience in case management, healthcare, or social services is a plus Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Comfortable working independently and managing multiple cases Basic computer skills; willing to learn case management software Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Schedule Flexible hours, depending on patient and hospital needs Weekly visit(s) required to the HSS Baltimore office Location Field-based throughout Maryland hospitals Main office: Baltimore, MD (Little Italy, near the Aquarium) Flexible work from home options available.
