As a Graduate/Early-Career Acoustical Consultant with HGC, you'll join one of North America's leading acoustics teams and contribute to consulting projects involving noise, vibration, and acoustics in North Carolina, across the United States and Canada, and abroad. With support and guidance from experienced teammates, you'll work with clients across a wide range of market categories. The projects you'll be a part of will be varied, including the assessment and control of noise and vibration within and between sensitive spaces in a variety of building settings and from transportation sources and industrial facilities, architectural acoustics, vibration isolation of buildings/structures, and more. The work combines field measurement, data analysis, problem-solving, design input, and real-world impact. Our Charlotte office is relatively new, but you'll be joining a team of professionals who collaborate enthusiastically across our offices and with our clients to apply an unmatched depth of knowledge, experience, and innovation to address unique challenges across the full spectrum of noise, vibration, and acoustics. Your key functions & responsibilities With guidance and support from experienced teammates, you will contribute to all phases of acoustical consulting work, including: Conducting field inspections and measurements of noise, vibration, and acoustics using state-of-the-art instrumentation and techniques Reviewing project-related technical documents and drawings Analyzing data using commercial software packages and in-house tools Developing and evaluating solutions and alternatives with client input Preparing technical reports and presenting to clients as needed with appropriate review/oversight Developing your technical capabilities, areas of specialization, and industry knowledge over time, with opportunities to contribute to thought leadership initiatives Acting as an ambassador of HGC to clients, regulators, and other collaborators Supporting our technical and administrative teams as needed Your characteristics, skills & knowledge Our team moves quickly, so we're looking for someone who builds trust through competence, accountability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
