Education and Training :
Our evidence-based classes foster confidence and prepare caregivers to create a meaningful difference in the lives of the people in their care. Caregivers learn to practice a person-centered approach to care that recognizes and incorporates an individual's personal history, preferences, and abilities into every aspect of care to meet their physical, mental, and emotional health needs and promote overall wellbeing. Oregon Care Partners has more than 170 virtual classes, 80 webinars and 30 in-person classes for family caregivers, direct care providers working in community-based or long-term care settings, and first responders.
Long-Term Care Workforce Development Services:
Oregon Care Careers is a free long-term care career support service inspiring the best of Oregon's workforce to join and grow a career in long-term care. Our mission is to ensure the increasing demand for quality long-term care services is met by highlighting the diverse work and career growth opportunities available within Oregon's long-term care communities. Our free personalized career guidance services make it easy to get started or take the next steps in a fulfilling career that gives dignity and quality of life to older adults who need assistance in their daily lives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Career Guide will support Oregon Care Partners' mission, vision, strategic plan and goals and work in concert with the specific training initiative directors, partners, collaborators, contractors, and the OCP team. The Career Guide will support OCPs commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging-focused (DEIB) by supporting strategies to attract, develop, and retain long-term care workers in Oregon. The Career Guide will provide personalized career guidance to help individuals understand long-term care career opportunities and training requirements, with a goal of leading to job placement or career advancement. The Career Guide will work one-on-one with individuals representing diverse backgrounds, and using a person-centered, affirming, and positive approach help individuals determine their interests and abilities and provide a wealth of useful information in key areas such as career discovery and planning, and connect individuals to additional resources, and more. The Career Guide reports to the Program Manager and supports program success by providing administrative support of all aspects of this new program ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Responsibilities fall into the following major categories: administrative, career guidance, CRM management, technical support, and event support. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A
highly organized and collaborative individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for workforce development, long-term and community-based care, and to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles are applied throughout the operation of the Care Careers program. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human development, counseling, or related field, or Three yeras of progressively responsible experience as an adult career counselor, case manager, or any combination of education and work experience that fulfills the requirements of the position. Must be proficient operating a computer in a Windows environment and using various productivity software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint and other software applications, hardware, and peripheral equipment. Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and managing data. Proficiency in project management, grant-funded programs, data reporting, and process improvement initiatives Demonstrated experience and/or proficiency in customer service practices, principles and relationship building. Experience with outreach and follow-up communications. Preferred Attributes Familiarity with long-term care and community resources for older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregiving. Experience with website management and using WordPress. English/Spanish Other Desired Skills and Abilities Strong desire to understand, support, and promote the mission of Oregon Care Partners.
