Voices for Independence (VFI) is seeking a motivated Pre-ETS Instructor to help students with disabilities prepare for life after high school. In this role, you'll inspire and guide students through career exploration, workplace readiness training, self-advocacy, and post-secondary planning, all while connecting them to real-world job experiences that set them up for success. About Voices for Independence The mission of VFI is to empower people with disabilities and promote independent living. As a Center for Independent Living (CIL), we provide core services such as advocacy, peer support, skills training, information and referral, and deinstitutionalization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead group and one-on-one lessons on employment skills, self-advocacy, and education planning. Coordinate work-based learning opportunities such as internships, job shadows, and workplace tours. Assist students with applications, scholarships, and campus visits for post-secondary programs. Collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to support student goals. Maintain accurate documentation and meet reporting requirements. Travel locally within Erie County to schools, worksites, and partner locations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, special education, social work, human resources, or at least 2 years of related experience in place of a degree. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably youth. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, registration, and insurance. Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs. Must obtain criminal and child abuse clearances. Preferred Qualifications Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Experience collaborating with schools, employers, and community agencies. Work Environment Combination of fieldwork, remote work, and office work. Local travel required; occasional overnight travel for trainings or conferences. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
