This role focuses on helping participants overcome employment barriers, identify realistic job opportunities, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to succeed in today's workforce. The Job Success Coach serves as a trusted source of guidance and accountability, helping participants navigate the job-search process from preparation to placement. Responsibilities include career coaching, resume development, interview preparation, job searching, employer connections, application assistance, and ongoing support after employment. The ideal candidate understands the challenges individuals face during reentry and can build authentic relationships while maintaining professionalism, accountability, and high expectations. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about second chances, workforce development, and helping individuals turn their experiences into opportunities. The successful candidate will help participants move beyond simply finding a job by developing the confidence, communication skills, workplace behaviors, and career strategies necessary to secure employment and build a sustainable future. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one employment coaching and career guidance to individuals returning to the community after incarceration. Build authentic, trusting relationships with participants while maintaining clear expectations, accountability, and professional boundaries. Assess participants' employment goals, skills, work history, interests, and barriers to develop individualized employment action plans. Help participants identify realistic job opportunities based on their experience, skills, transportation, schedule, background, and career goals. Connect participants with employers, staffing agencies, workforce programs, training providers, apprenticeships, and other employment opportunities. Maintain an active pipeline of job leads and employer contacts that provide meaningful opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment. Prepare participants for successful employment by reinforcing essential workplace skills such as dependability, communication, adaptability, teamwork, accountability, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Identify employment barriers and connect participants to appropriate resources, including transportation, identification documents, clothing, technology, training, and community services. Track participant engagement, job applications, interviews, placements, retention, and other employment outcomes through accurate case notes and documentation. Collaborate with case managers, workforce partners, employers, training providers, and community organizations to coordinate participant support. Maintain a professional, respectful, and trauma-informed approach while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Motivate participants to remain persistent and accountable throughout the job-search process, particularly when facing rejection or employment barriers. What We're Looking For Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills Genuine passion for helping individuals returning from incarceration achieve employment and career success Ability to connect with participants from diverse backgrounds and build trust while maintaining professionalism and accountability Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage participants, job leads, follow-ups, and documentation independently Ability to motivate, encourage, and hold participants accountable throughout their job search Experience in workforce development, career coaching, recruiting, reentry services, case management, or customer support is a plus Personal or professional experience with reentry, workforce barriers, or underserved communities is highly valued Comfortable helping participants with resumes, job applications, interviews, and connecting with employers
