Job Description

Description:

The Life Skills Coach provides individualized coaching, mentoring, guidance, and student success support to eligible

TRIO SSS

participants. This position plays an important role in helping students develop the academic, personal, professional, and life-management skills needed to successfully navigate college, persist toward graduation, maintain good academic standing, and prepare for successful transitions into employment or further education. The Life Skills Coach will work collaboratively with the TRIO Director, Academic Advisor/Counselor, faculty, campus partners, and other university personnel to identify student needs, connect students with appropriate resources, and provide coordinated support that promotes academic achievement, personal development, and overall student success.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required. Experience working with college students (particularly first-generation, low-income, or students from educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.). Experience providing mentoring, coaching, advising, counseling, student support, or related services in a higher education, community-based, or similar setting. Must have excellent customer service skills and a commitment to ethical communication practices. Valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have excellent written and verbal communication, coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support college students, identify barriers to success, and develop practical solutions. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records and documentation, and work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used technology, as well as a demonstrated commitment to student access, success, retention, persistence, and graduation, is required.

Hire Range:

$45,000

•$48,500

8:00am

•5:00pm, Monday

37.5 hours per week.
