Laurens Academy Inc. seeks an International Student Advisor w. Proven work exp. of 4+ years in the education field.

Responsibilities:

Assist foreign students in making academic, personal-social, and environmental adjustments to campus and community life; Promote intercultural awareness and support adaptation to local habits and culture; Encourage and coordinate activities of groups that promote understanding of foreign cultures; Facilitate the inclusion of foreign students into educational programs; Help students understand and overcome social or behavioral challenges; Advise individuals and small groups based on their needs; Work with students to develop skills that support learning, such as effective time management and study habits.

Must have:

strong familiarity with Asian culture and traditions; experience working with international students or multicultural populations; knowledge of intercultural communication and adjustment processes; proficiency in providing linguistic and academic support to non-native English speakers. U.S. or Foreign Master's Degree in Psychology, Theology, or Counseling required.
