About Carey Counseling:
Carey Counseling Center, Inc. was established in 1970 as a not-for-profit community mental health center. We are dedicated to serving Northwest Tennessee by offering a full range of community-based, behavioral health services. Our staff is made up of highly-trained, caring professionals who are dedicated to helping individuals and families in our communities cope with mental illness, while contributing to the overall health of our communities. Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Early Intervention Services and programmatic supervisor, the Individual Placement and Support Specialist provides evidence based supportive employment and education services.
Examples of Duties:
1. Trained in and utilizes Individualized Placement and Support Practice and Principles, (IPS). 2. Coordinates with area businesses and colleges on criteria for employment and education. 3. Explores possible job matches to the client's skills and experience. 4. Provides mediation in the event of concerns with current employment. 5. Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies. 6. Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in education, social work, sociology, psychology, human resources, healthcare, or disability related field of study; OR High School diploma or GED and two years of experience in education, social work, sociology, psychology, human resources, healthcare, or disability related field of study. At least 1 year of experience assisting individuals with employment related goals preferred, but not required.
