Northern Houston Area, TX (including Conroe, Spring, Tomball, Willis, and surrounding communities) Job Summary Freeman & Gonsalves Consulting Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated Job Skills Trainer to provide employment training and support services to individuals with disabilities preparing for competitive employment. The Job Skills Trainer will work directly with customers in community and workplace settings throughout the northern Houston area, helping them develop the skills necessary to obtain and maintain successful employment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt training methods to meet the unique needs of each customer. Responsibilities Assess customers' skills, abilities, and interests to determine appropriate training and support needs. Develop individualized training plans that focus on strengthening job readiness, workplace behaviors, and employment skills. Provide hands-on training in real workplace environments to support customers in learning job tasks, workplace expectations, time management, and communication with supervisors and coworkers. Assist customers in developing workplace independence through task analysis, modeling, and guided practice. Monitor customer progress and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve job performance and confidence. Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation counselors and other service providers to ensure coordinated employment supports. Support customers in learning workplace routines, safety procedures, and employer expectations. Provide follow-along support to help customers maintain employment and build long-term job stability. Document services provided and maintain accurate progress notes and training reports in accordance with program requirements. Maintain professional relationships with local employers and community partners to support customer success. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Ability to provide clear instruction, coaching, and encouragement in workplace environments. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and team members. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the northern Houston service area, including locations such as Conroe, Spring, Tomball, Willis, and nearby communities.
