Talent Search Program Educational Advisor We are accepting applications for the Talent Search Program Educational Advisor position with the LULAC National Educational Service Center (LNESC) in Corpus Christi, Texas. We need a highly energetic individual to motivate high school students to prepare to enroll in an appropriate postsecondary program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree Experience with counseling techniques and academic need analysis Familiar with requirements for entrance into and financing of undergraduate college programs Be able to communicate with and relate to high school aged youth Understand the problems facing the target population Good oral and written communication skills General familiarity with computers and the internet

Have similar experiences to Talent Search eligible students Bilingual in

Spanish/English Description:

Under the direction of the Center Director, guides students to complete secondary school and enter an appropriate postsecondary educational program.

Duties:

Conduct student intakes and assessments, prepare plans for services Assist program participants and parents individually and via workshops about goal setting, academic planning, career exploration, study skills, personal growth, postsecondary planning, applications for financial aid, scholarships and admissions, and preparation for college admissions tests Maintain student files and perform data entry and maintenance for assigned students Assist with data preparation and evaluation Identify and recruit students for the program Co-plan and co-implement college tour field trips

Salary:

$45,000.00/year
