Job Description

Job Summary The Big Futures Employer Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining employer partnerships that support work-based learning opportunities for young adults. This part-time position focuses primarily on employer outreach, recruitment, and coordination of internship placements aligned with participants' career interests and workforce readiness development. Working closely with the BBBSEP Big Futures program staff and workforce partners, including Workforce Solutions Borderplex, the Coordinator helps connect participants ages 16-24 with meaningful internship opportunities that provide real-world work experience and exposure to career pathways. The Coordinator serves as a central point of coordination between outreach and recruitment, case management, employers, training providers, and funders to ensure participants are enrolled, supported, placed, and transitioned successfully across all Big Futures initiatives. Key Responsibilities Employer Outreach & Recruitment
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit local employers that align with Workforce Solutions Borderplex' hot jobs and target industries, interested in hosting interns or hiring program participants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, industry partners, and community organizations. Conduct employer meetings and presentations to promote the Work-Based Learning program. Maintain a pipeline of employers willing to provide internship and employment opportunities.
  • Conducts outreach presentations to employers, Chambers of Commerce and economic development agencies in the El Paso Region. Work-Based Learning Coordination
  • Collaborate with Big Futures staff to match participants with appropriate internship placements aligned with their career interests and readiness.
  • Coordinate communication between employers, participants, and program staff during internship placements.
  • Support onboarding of employers and participants and assist in resolving issues that may arise during placements. Workforce & Community Partnership Engagement
  • Work collaboratively with workforce partners, including Workforce Solutions Borderplex, to align internship opportunities with local workforce needs.
  • Represent the program at workforce and community events to expand employer engagement.
Qualifications High school diploma/GED required. Must meet one of the following: Bachelor's degree in human services, workforce development, education, social sciences, or a related field; or Associate degree or two years of higher education plus two years of relevant experience; or Four years of relevant work experience in program coordination, workforce development, or youth services. Ability to pass a background check (National Sex Offender, Criminal History, and driving record). Valid U.S. driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
