GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The RESEA Employment Services Specialist is responsible for serving individuals through the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment program. RESEA targets Unemployment Insurance claimants who are most likely to exhaust benefits and in need of reemployment services. He/she works with the RESEA Manager but will be designated to serve the county that they will be headquartered.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Assists the RESEA Manager with RESEA Orientation, which includes information about and access to available Workforce Solution Office services Assists the RESEA Manager provision of support or assistance to the claimant to develop and implement an Individual Reemployment Plan Assists Unemployment Benefits Eligibility Assessment, including a review of work search activities and referral to adjudication, as appropriate, if an issue or potential issues are identified Assists the RESEA Manager with customized labor market information that addresses the claimant's specific needs, and includes a comprehensive analysis of the claimant's work history Assists the RESEA Manager with Case Managing the RESEA claimants in WorkInTexas.com Provide guidance and suggestions on how the claimant can enhance his or her job match parameters in WorkInTexas.com to ensure the best matches with job opportunities.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Prefer college degree in Psychology/Counseling or related concentration; require a minimum of five (5) years work experience in the private sector. Will accept two years related work experience in lieu of direct experience or for each year of a college credential.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be a self-starter and be able to communicate effectively with others in private and public sectors. Should be able to effectively communicate in both English and Spanish languages, with good writing skills required, and must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and be able to make effective oral and written presentations to teach job seekers to market themselves.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Will require in-region and out-of-region travel; will be required to attend workshops and training that will require overnight lodging and carpooling; must have a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance for approved travel. EO Employer!
