Career Manager - part-time/28 hrs per week We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered professional to serve as a Career Manager supporting students in the College of Life Sciences. This position empowers students to design meaningful career and life plans, build professional networks, access experiential learning opportunities, and achieve successful post-graduation outcomes. The Career Manager collaborates closely with faculty, staff, alumni, and employers to create customized programs and services that help students connect their academic experiences with future opportunities. The successful candidate will be passionate about student development, relationship building, and creating pathways that lead to student success. What you'll do in this position: Advise and coach students in identifying strengths, exploring career and life goals, preparing for graduate school, and developing personalized plans for post-graduation success. Guide students in professional development, including job and internship search strategies, networking, interviewing, professional communication, and personal branding. Connect students with experiential learning opportunities such as internships, research, service, and other career-building experiences. Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and deliver customized programs, services, and resources that support student success within assigned academic areas. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with employers, alumni, and community partners to expand opportunities for students. Facilitate networking, mentoring, recruiting, and employer engagement activities that strengthen students' professional connections and career readiness. Conduct outreach and partnership-building efforts to increase student access to internships, employment, and other post-graduation opportunities. Serve as a campus resource and thought leader by staying current on career development and experiential learning best practices, collaborating with university and professional partners, and promoting student success initiatives. What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU Bachelor's degree At least two years of relevant work experience Passion for working with and advising students Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills Customer-service orientation with professionalism and responsiveness Ability to take initiative and work independently Creative problem-solving and sound judgment Integrity, discretion, and professionalism Adaptability and ability to navigate ambiguity Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Workspace, and related technologies Preferred Master's degree 5+ years experience in university recruiting, career advising college students, or industry experience related to Life Sciences Experience with CRM, career services, or student engagement platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity, Salesforce) Experience with employer relations, recruiting, or partnership development Knowledge of career development, experiential learning, or higher education best practices Experience planning and delivering workshops, events, or student programs

Typical Starting Pay:
$31.25-$40.50 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
