Job Description

Looking for a job that makes a difference? The Access Academy is in immediate need of a dynamic Job Developer. The right candidate will operate within a community-based employment setting to provide supervision, assistance and training to individuals with disabilities. The Job Developer will oversee a program designed to allow individuals to acquire physical, emotional, intellectual and social skills necessary for successful employment. The objective of this role is to gradually reduce the Job Developer's presence, as the individual becomes more and more independent.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide assistance for the individual to be placed in competitive employment and maintain employment. Assists individuals in reinforcing essential skills, or teaching new skills appropriate to developing successful work habits. Create and implement plan for employee success, including goals, strengths, needs and objectives. Identifies potential problems and is proactive in problem solving. Assists in building a support network between employees, employers and community members. Communicates employee's progress appropriately to all necessary parties. Complete all required documentation appropriately and in a timely manner. Maintains close relationship with local employers, local and state employment representatives, and other vocationally oriented agencies.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree + 1 year experience in related field OR Associate's Degree + 2 years experience in related field OR High School Diploma/GED + 3 years experience in related field Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong crisis management skills preferred Knowledge of local job market Knowledge of employer expectations Ability to work independently
