Provide training and support to individuals with disabilities to maintain and enhance integrated community employment. Serve as a liaison between the individual and the employer to facilitate the necessary supports for the individual to become a successful employee.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Maximum of Eight) Provide job skills training and on-going supports to include completion of assigned job tasks, appropriate workplace social skills, problem solving, job adaptations, and other job- related skills. Educate employer and co-workers in the supervision, training, communication, and support of the individual. Analyze job duties and break down into manageable tasks to facilitate learning. Identify possible learning barriers and determine most suitable training method for work tasks. Maintain ongoing communication with the employer to address problems, concerns, or needs that may arise. Assure that work performed by the individual adheres to employer's specifications. Monitor quality of individual's work to ensure it adheres to company's standards and all tasks are completed within acceptable time frames. Facilitate development of natural supports for individuals receiving services to build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, and customers. Complete daily documentation of progress notes and other reports in an accurate, timely and professional manner. Provide input into the development of the individual person-centered plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing to work after-hours and/or on weekends, as required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to project a professional image while interfacing with the community Adaptable/flexible - enjoy doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Basic computer skills to include keyboarding Must be able to work independently with limited supervision AND must be able to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
One-year successful experience working with persons with various disabilities to include developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and substance use disorders desired High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license and safe driving record Mount Rogers Community Sevices is an Equal Opportunity Employer
