We are looking for an individual to serve as a Reentry Peer Mentor who will help others successfully reenter their communities after incarceration through compassion, connection, and career support.

Location:

Seattle, WA (3rd & Pike office the first 1-2 months, with future onsite work in the Rainier area) About the Role We're looking for a Reentry Peer Mentor, someone with lived experience, who knows firsthand the challenges and triumphs of starting over. In this role, you'll be a trusted guide, motivator, and advocate for participants working toward employment and stability after incarceration. Your personal experience is a valuable skillset. You'll use it to inspire confidence, share practical tools, and show others that success after incarceration is not only possible, it's achievable. What You'll Do Build genuine, trusting relationships with participants based on respect, empathy, and shared experience. Help participants create and follow individualized reentry plans focused on employment, training, and personal growth. Support individuals in overcoming barriers such as transportation, identification, and other reentry challenges. Collaborate with TRAC staff and partners to coordinate resources, training opportunities, and supportive services. Provide mentorship through goal-setting, job readiness coaching, and emotional support. Maintain accurate case notes and reporting to help track progress and program impact. Represent TRAC at community or workforce events, helping build bridges between participants and employers. Facilitate workshops on various topics that are useful for transitioning back into the community. What You Bring Lived experience with incarceration or the criminal justice system (required). A desire to give back and support others who are walking a similar path. Strong communication skills and an empathetic, nonjudgmental approach. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Reliable transportation to travel between TRAC offices and partner sites. Associate's degree or higher preferred (or equivalent experience in mentoring, advocacy, or social services).
