Key Responsibilities:
Offer peer support and mentorship to individuals in recovery, sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and encourage. Facilitate group meetings and workshops aimed at promoting recovery skills and resilience. Assist clients in developing and implementing individualized recovery plans. Connect clients with community resources, services, and support networks to aid in their recovery journey. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and recovery teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in peer recovery support. Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the recovery community and broader healthcare systems.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a recovery-oriented environment. Personal experience in recovery from substance use disorder, with a strong understanding of the recovery process. Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competency in recovery support.
