Kind Smiles, LLC Direct Support Staff Job description contact # 480-465-8415 or 520-429-6846 Kind Smiles LLC, Adult Day Treatment Program serves adults over the age of 18 with developmental disabilities and provides a caring, supportive environment for members to develop the social skills necessary to live more independent and self-sufficient lives. We encourage each individual to discover and independently work on their attainable goals and to reach their fullest potential. We follow their Person-Centered Service Plans to enhance strengths and encourage growth and independence. By encouraging them to express their ideas with activities. Every individual is unique and has different goals and vary from their peers, however each member deserves the satisfaction that comes with accomplishment. Each member will be encouraged to participate in a variety of both small and large group activities that increase socialization in a fun and relaxed environment. We also provide a variety of volunteer opportunities to develop essential skills. Additionally, there are many other growth areas to explore. We currently have openings for full time positions for the hours of 7:00AM to 5:00PM including transportation Position Description Direct Support Staff will be assisting our members within the treatment facility and in the community. We need staff that really enjoy working with adults with developmental disabilities. A great and positive attitude, empathy towards others and patience. Good communications skills are a must. Creativity is a plus. Training will be provided and paid for the staff yearly. Staff may be required to work with a 1:1 ratio and or 2:1 ratio. Staff are required to assist members with toileting, feeding and other necessary interactions to meet the members' needs. Maintaining the facility clean for licensing requirements. The staff will assist with identifying each of our members' goals based on their Person-Centered Service Plans. Staff will be asked to participate in activities with the members. Staff will document behaviors, give and document medications given if needed. Staff will assist in helping the members with outings within the community and possible travel to vacations and filed trips. Primary Duties
- Provide care and supervision to the members during the day.
- Experience with Adults, knowledge of disabilities and/or experience with adults with disabilities (e.g. Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Down syndrome)
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the person.
- Working with members who will possibly need 1:1 ratio and or a 2:1 ratio
- Maintain the usual routine of the person. Such as the following service plans.
- Honor all aspects of the person's human rights and adhere to all policies of confidentiality.
- Provide timely, complete, legible, and accurate documentation of daily activities and goals as specified in the service plan and comply with all reporting requirements.
- Maintaining the facility clean and meet licensing requirements
- Represent Kind Smiles LLC in a positive and professional manner to persons, families, co-workers and the public.
- Provide your own transportation or company vehicles and maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (Must have and be cleared before working with the members)
- High School Diploma or GED (Experience may be used as a requirement instead of the high school diploma.)
- Must be at least eighteen years of age to provide care.
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Prior experience assisting persons with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Experience involving childcare or adult physical care skills is preferred.
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Employees are expected to participate in the required training including First Aid and CPR.
