Job Overview Desert Rain Care Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable CNA or Caregiver to provide high-quality, non-medical in-home support to clients who need assistance with activities of daily living and personal care. This role may include bathing, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, mobility and transfer assistance, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and routine Foley catheter-related personal care as directed by the client's care plan. The CNA/Caregiver will help promote client safety, dignity, comfort, independence, and overall well-being while maintaining professional communication with clients, families, and the DRCS care team. We are currently hiring specifically for weekend shifts. Applicants should have reliable Saturday and/or Sunday availability and be comfortable supporting clients with varying levels of care needs, including higher-acuity personal care and transfer assistance. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts Assist clients with routine Foley catheter-related personal care, such as maintaining cleanliness around the catheter area, keeping tubing positioned properly and free from kinks, emptying and measuring the drainage bag when directed by the care plan, and promptly reporting changes or concerns to management/family. Do not insert, remove, replace, irrigate, or otherwise perform skilled Foley catheter procedures unless specifically authorized by law, role, training, and DRCS policy. Observe and report changes in the client's condition, including changes in urine appearance, output, discomfort, leakage, or other concerns. Monitor patients' vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; observe for any changes in health status or behavior Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences; ensure proper meal presentation and timely service Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry, bed making, and sanitation, to promote a safe environment Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities through tailored activities and compassionate interaction Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet each resident's unique requirements Ensure safety during patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or residents' ; assist with mobility exercises as directed Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being within home & community care settings Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments preferred CNA experience preferred Caregiver experience preferred Foley catheter care experience preferred Hoyer lift and transfer experience preferred Experience assisting with ADLs, bathing, toileting, and incontinence care preferred Dementia, hospice, and higher-acuity home care experience is a plus Weekend in-home care experience strongly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring Hands-on experience with medication administration, care planning, and documentation procedures Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information Experience providing dementia care, memory support, hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays is highly valued Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance Strong understanding of infection control practices, including cleaning protocols and hygiene standards in healthcare settings Certifications such as CPR/First Aid are highly desirable; ongoing training in nursing or social work fields is a plus Join us to deliver compassionate caregiving that truly transforms lives!
