$20.04/hr. - $31.58/hr. About the Role We are an agency that employs Direct Support Professionals to provide care to families with individuals living with developmental disabilities. We are currently looking for caregivers to provide part-time care for families around the bay area. Right now, we are prioritizing care for the following families: One family in Brentwood looking for a caregiver to cover Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 8:30pm (exact days and hours may vary month to month) One family in Oakland looking for a Spanish speaking caregiver for 2 hours on Saturdays only. One family in Bay Point looking for a caregiver for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. As a Direct Support Professional, your primary mission is to provide safe, engaging care for individuals with developmental disabilities, allowing their primary family caregivers a much-needed, temporary break (respite) from their daily caregiving responsibilities. Key Responsibilities As a respite care provider, you will work directly in the client's home. Your duties are strictly non-medical and focus on safety, supervision, and daily living support:

Supervision & Safety:

Provide constant, attentive supervision to ensure the client's physical and emotional well-being in their home environment.

Daily Living Support:

Assist with non-medical personal care tasks as needed (e.g., helping with safely moving around the home, guiding them through basic hygiene routines, or preparing light meals/snacks).

Engagement & Recreation:

Plan and engage in age-appropriate, preferred activities with the client, such as playing board games, reading, arts and crafts, or watching a movie.

Communication:

Maintain brief, accurate daily logs of the respite session and report any significant changes or safety concerns to the agency supervisor.

Job Requirements Age:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Clearances:

Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Fingerprint/Live Scan clearance via DOJ/FBI).

Certifications:

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).

Attributes:

Exceptional patience, empathy, reliability, and strong communication skills.

Note:

Experience working with individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or other developmental delays is highly preferred.
