In this role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their health and well-being, and promote independence while ensuring their safety and comfort. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and respecting residents' rights and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are upheld. Assist with transportation within the community or facility for appointments or outings using personal transportation assistance if needed. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience in patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and following care plans. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining client confidentiality is essential. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling techniques is desirable. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities supports success in this role. Strong caregiving skills including assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, personal transportation assistance, and heavy lifting when necessary.
